Mounds View Public Schools Community Education – Youth Activities & Enrichment offers youth classes, events, and activities that include visual arts, STEM, chess, family nights, and sports. Family activities and enrichment opportunities in the program include family star watches, the annual Frosty Ball, and movie nights. The broader Community Education program also offers Senior community lunches, gardening, cooking, Meals on Wheels, and free food and resource assistance.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Winter/Spring registration opens Friday, December 12 at 9 a.m.; volunteer drivers deliver hot meals Monday–Friday
• Price: Qualifying Enrichment and Activities will have a Financial Support/Educational Benefits fee rate that is 50% of the full fee for the program, with a max discount of $100.
Community Education works in collaboration with community members and organizations to create lifelong learning opportunities that are responsive to community needs and enhance the quality of life in an evolving and diverse community. Volunteer drivers deliver hot meals Monday through Friday to people who are physically challenged or are unable to prepare their own food. The Ralph Reeder Food Shelf provides free food and resource assistance to individuals and families in need, and financial support is provided by the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, the District Community Education Scholarship fund, and other community donors. The program uses a Community Ed online registration platform, and youth scholarship/financial aid is available for youth residing within the Mounds View Public Schools boundaries who currently qualify for educational benefits or free/reduced lunch.
