Camp Under the Starz includes theatre classes, voice classes, dance classes, and courses in characterization, stage presence, and stage makeup, along with stage craft, stage etiquette, improvisation, movement, projection, dialect, and auditioning. Art activities include painting, drawing, scenery work, plein air, brushwork, arts and crafts, sewing, and stage make up. Campers also take part in campfires, hiking, basketball, volleyball, gaga pit, low ropes, pontoon, and kayak activities.

• Schedule: Camp dates are Sunday, August 9th through Saturday, August 15th, 2026
• Price: Spooktacular Sale is Oct 1-15th. $1,000 due in full. ** $200 due at time of registration ** $1,000 October 1st - 15th $1,200 October 16th - December 31st $1,300 January 1st - April 15th $1,500 April 15th - June 15th If full payment is not received prior to JUNE 15, 2026, no refunds and camper CANNOT attend camp. If your camper needs a PCA (Personal Care Attendant) at camp (as determined by staff), the additional cost for food/housing for the week is $450.00.
Camp Under the Starz is all-inclusive, and cost includes all food, snacks, housing, staff cost, volunteers, directorial staff, teaching artists, production cost, art projects, camp t-shirts, and a goody bag. Camper ages include students ages 10–18 with or without disabilities, and adults with disabilities ages 19 and older, who will need to complete a background check. Theatre track placement is determined by auditions. Families are responsible for getting their camper to and from camp, and a carpool list is available upon request. If a camper needs a PCA at camp, Northern Starz does not provide a PCA, and the family will need to provide one; the additional cost for food and housing for a PCA for the week is $450.00. The organization works with individuals on waivers utilizing the CDCS Plan and CADI waivers.
At Northern Starz, the mission is to partner with community and families to provide innovative and diverse quality performing arts education. Camp Under the Starz has the CampSafe® Certification Badge, which represents dedication to professional training of staff and communicates to families that the safety of children is the first priority. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
