Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness leads the No Boundaries to the Boundary Waters program, with education director Alison Nyenhuis overseeing education efforts. Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness has brought people together to safeguard the Boundary Waters for 50 years, and the No Boundaries to the Boundary Waters program has been funded since 2018. The program delivers a Boundary Waters curriculum to students and works with schools and organizations across the state. It provides scholarship opportunities for students from diverse and underserved communities to go on weeklong Boundary Waters adventures. The program’s mission is to protect the Boundary Waters and to connect people of all backgrounds to the wilderness, so that this and future generations benefit from this place.
