Woodbury Athletic Association Recreational Soccer

Woodbury Athletic Association Recreational Soccer includes organized soccer with a focus on dribbling with all parts of the foot, 1v1 skills such as stopping, starting, and turning, and passing and receiving techniques. Players also take part in scrimmages and games as part of the program. Futures players in this program participate in an academy-style training with Salvo Soccer Club Coaching Staff on Friday nights.

• Ages: 5–15 years old
• Schedule: Futures players have one team training session on Monday, one game on Wednesday, and one academy-style training session on Friday each week

The goal of the Woodbury Athletic Association Recreational Soccer program is to provide an opportunity for community members to have fun, learn about soccer, and develop a love for the game. Woodbury Athletic Association soccer is powered by Salvo Soccer Club for all recreation soccer programming, and Salvo Soccer Club provides weekly practice plans to Woodbury Recreation coaches that are based on U.S. Soccer Grassroots best practices. The Futures program within this structure is a bridge program for U8 and U9 players preparing to transition into Salvo Soccer Club's competitive soccer program and is offered in both the spring and fall seasons. Salvo Soccer Club utilizes an academy-style training program for Futures players exclusively on Friday nights. Salvo Soccer Club's Recreation Soccer Program is the only recreation program in the State of Minnesota to receive the US Youth Soccer 5-Star Recreation Award multiple times. Woodbury Athletic Association is an independent, nonprofit youth organization administered and managed almost entirely by volunteer adults serving the City of Woodbury and the surrounding areas, and it serves all of the City of Woodbury and the surrounding areas regardless of school district boundaries.
