AfterSchool programs at The ArtsCenter include activities such as drama, drumming, printmaking, and ceramics. The program is led by local teaching artists for grades K–5 and offers both 3-day and 5-day options. Transportation is provided for public schools in Chapel Hill and Carrboro.

The ArtsCenter has existed for 50 years as a non-profit with a mission to educate and inspire artistic creativity and to enrich the lives of people of all ages. The ArtsCenter is recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is the largest provider of arts education in Orange County. Community members from all backgrounds gather there to collaborate, learn, and build community through arts education, community engagement opportunities, and support for local and regional artists through galleries, stage performances, and a blog featuring interviews and stories. The ArtsCenter emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion in its policies, practices, and programming.
The leadership team includes Rebecca Newton (Executive Director, Interim), Micky Eilish (Deputy Director | School Outreach), Rachel Nunn (ArtSchool Director), Taryn Revoir (Director, Ceramics Studio), Harold Hill (Facilities & Operations Manager), Daniel O’Shaughnessy (Live Events Manager), Soleil Ananda (Gallery & Project Manager), Jamil Nichols (Youth Programs Director), and Laurie Weller (Finance Director).
