Camp Kanata

Camp Kanata offers overnight camp with canoeing, a double water slide, kayaking, a climbing wall, ultimate frisbee, and hiking. It also offers Day Camp, where campers choose daily activities and take part in swimming, assemblies, and other activities. The Day Camp CILT Program is a new three-week summer program.

Programs

• Overnight Camp — 6-17 · Classic summer overnight camp for kids and teens; one week at camp; additional fee activities and stayover options are mentioned for some campers.
• Day Camp — Rising grades 1-8 · Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. · Summer day camp with daily swimming, assemblies and activities; campers choose daily activities.
• Leadership Development Camp — Campers in grades 9-10 · Camp Kanata Camper in Leadership Training (CILT) program for campers in grades 9 and 10.
• Weekend Camp — Weekend camps are for first-time campers, veteran campers reconnecting with summer friends, mothers and their children, and adult/family weekends.

About the provider

Camp Kanata says it helps youth, teens, and young people become the best version of themselves. It says it does what is right, treats others the way they would like to be treated, and works hard to make everyone feel welcome and safe. Camp Kanata says it is inclusive and welcoming and serves families and campers from diverse cultures, races, backgrounds, faiths, and perspectives from across the country and around the world. It is a branch of the YMCA of the Triangle.

Campers can choose daily activities. Campers signed a Code of Conduct. There is a no-electronics policy for overnight camp. One mutual huddlemate request is honored for day campers within two years of age. Stayover weekend is offered for campers registered for two or more consecutive weeks, with no stayover between Weeks 3 & 4 and Weeks 6 & 7. Beaver Dam Kayak Trip, Mountain Biking and Stayover Option are additional-fee activities for ages 12-15. Some activities are available for campers ages 12-15. Camp Kanata is located in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
