Camp Kanata offers activities such as learning how to canoe, going down the double water slide, and spending time at the lake. Campers can climb and explore Alpine Towers, try Tarzan Swings and a big rope swing, and jump on the blob. They can also take part in Creative Arts, play Soccer, swim, and go down the slide during their time at camp.

• Schedule: A week at Camp Kanata overnight camp is like no other week during the summer.
Camp Kanata is a classic summer camp for kids and teens ages 6–16, with overnight, day and leadership camps grounded in the natural world. Weekend Camps at Camp Kanata are for first-time campers, veteran campers looking to reconnect with summer friends, mothers and their children and adult/family weekends. There are more than 150 acres to explore, and each camper signs the Code of Conduct form as they commit to doing what is right during their time at Camp.
Camp Kanata helps youth, teens and young people become the best version of themselves and is a branch of the YMCA of the Triangle, which has a mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. As a branch of the YMCA of the Triangle, Camp Kanata is part of an organization committed to being a multicultural, nondiscriminatory and inclusive organization fully leveraging collective resources and impact to positively affect the health and well-being of the community. Camp Kanata is described as an inclusive and welcoming place dedicated to serving families and campers from diverse cultures, races, backgrounds, faiths and perspectives from across the country and around the world.
Laura Maguire serves as an Advisory Board Member and previously held roles as a Hilton Unit Leader and Trainee Director at Camp Kanata. Laura first ventured to Camp Kanata in 1997 and went on to spend 15 summers at camp. She manages the wine brand J Vineyards & Winery in Healdsburg, California, and has over a decade of experience driving brand strategy and product development across wholesale, direct-to-consumer and private brands. She earned her MBA with honors from Vanderbilt University and holds her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Virginia.
Camper Logan says, “Camp is really fun! If you think you might not go, go! You'll have a great time and make tons of new friends.” Camper Ellie says, “The best thing about Kanata is all the stuff you get to do. I love the lake! You can swim, go down the slide, jump on the blob and there's this big rope swing that you can swing out and drop off into the water!”
