• Schedule: Open Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00 am–4:00 pm; closed on holidays and on Saturdays of long weekends

The Discovery Centre highlights ongoing research at the National Centre for Livestock and the Environment and the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences. It features a hands-on interpretive centre with interactive exhibits that lead visitors from the farmer’s wheat field to the kitchen table, viewing windows into a real working pig barn, four hog barn viewing windows, and versatile learning spaces for meetings, events, and conferences. The program offers nine programs that link directly to Manitoba’s curriculum, two virtual experiences for classes unable to visit in person, a team building program, access to a state-of-the-art dairy barn at the Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Discovery and Learning Complex, and the ability to see laying hens up close and compare two different housing systems at the Manitoba Egg Farmers Learning and Research Centre.
