About
KidsQuest Summer Camps offers hands-on activities that include science experiments, arts, and projects such as using playdough to create impressions, using light to look at shape shadows, and tapping and tacking shape creations. Campers take part in experiments as junior biologists, chemists, physicists, paleontologists, and geologists, and also experiment with clay, paint, and wire while learning about plants, animals, water, trees, and bugs. Additional activities include constructing the tallest dollhouse, designing and racing cars, engineering with hydraulics, creating a light-up wand, pouring potions, conjuring crystals through chemical reactions, exploring levitation, creating fairy handbooks and fairy dwellings, sleuthing through the museum as a spy while collecting intel to solve a mystery, building foundational skills in power tools and manual tools, taking apart computers, melting household objects to create art, exploring Pop Art, learning the science behind manually controlling cameras, experimenting with time and motion, making art using shutter speed, aperture, and ISO, exploring stop-motion animation with story creation, character development, frame-by-frame image capturing and video editing, prototyping and designing a bicycle using computer software, creating a bike with a modular kit, creating big body art, pendulum painting, creating exploding paint bags, textile design, cardboard manipulation, fusing plastics, and using a sewing machine.
• Ages: 4–10 years old
• Schedule: Explorer Camps for ages 4–6 run as half-day sessions from 9am–12pm in 3-day and 5-day formats, and Adventure Camps for ages 7–10 include a half-day 3-day camp from 9am–12pm and full-day 5-day camps from 9am–4pm.
• Price: Explorer and Adventure 3-day camps cost $210; 5-day half-day camps cost $350; 5-day full-day Adventure Camps cost $525, with a late pickup fee of $1 per minute, no refunds for no-shows, refunds only until May 20, 2025, and a $50 processing fee for each camp cancellation.
Explorer Camps 2025 for ages 4–6 include Sensational Shapes (June 30–July 2), Science Explorers I (June 16–20), Science Explorers II (July 28–August 1), Art Explorers I (June 23–27), Art Explorers II (August 11–15), Nature Explorers I (July 7–11), Nature Explorers II (August 25–29), Engineering Explorers I (July 14–18), and Engineering Explorers II (August 18–22), all scheduled as half-day camps from 9am–12pm. Adventure Camps 2025 for ages 7–10 include Build It, Engineer It as a half-day 3-day camp from June 30–July 2 (9am–12pm), and full-day 5-day camps from 9am–4pm: Tinkering with Tinkerbell (June 23–27), Masterpiece Mysteries (July 7–11), Creation Studio (July 14–18), Mad Science (July 21–25), Photography and Pop Art with The Sprouting Image (July 28–August 1), Stop Motion Commotion (August 4–8), Forces and Physics with Wheellab (August 11–15), and Fantastical Fashion (August 18–22). For Photography and Pop Art with The Sprouting Image, campers are asked to bring a camera if they have one, and the camp provides a table full of lenses and cameras to test throughout the week. Campers are expected to be picked up on time every day, and all campers will go outside as long as the Air Quality Index remains below 150. All campers must be the correct age at the time the camp starts, with no exceptions, and if a child has physical or learning disabilities, families are asked to contact the museum after registering so accommodations can be made. Refunds are not issued if a child is dismissed due to disciplinary action, and KidsQuest Children’s Museum reserves the right to cancel programs or sessions based on insufficient enrollment and government mandates, with a full refund for the specific camp in these events.
KidsQuest Children’s Museum is a non-profit organization that has been inspiring curiosity and creativity for 20 years and has provided programs to over 3 million visitors since opening in 2005. The museum offers year-round, play-based learning through hands-on exhibits, STEAM-focused classes, special events, memberships, intergenerational workshops, and outreach programs, and is committed to offering a joyful, welcoming space that fosters inclusivity and lifelong learning. KidsQuest Children’s Museum has launched a small sustainability fee on programs to continue its mission to create learning through the power of play in the community for years to come. The museum features over 25 interactive exhibits and free daily programs, along with rotating exhibits and programs designed to inspire intergenerational learning and shared discovery. Free and reduced cost access is supported by 4Culture, and the museum participates in the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) Reciprocal Program, Association of Science & Technology Centers (ASTC) reciprocal benefits, Northwest Association of Youth Museums (NWAYM) Reciprocal Program, and Blue Star Museums, with limited KidsQuest admission offered by King County Library System via free passes. Play for Less discounted admission, memberships, special events, and classes are available for qualifying families, and scholarships are available for camps, classes and workshops, field trips, and memberships.
