Swim Lessons and Youth Swim Team includes group swim lessons, private swim lessons, a Little bobbers class, a Youth Swim Team, the Columbus Youth Swim Club (CYSC), and a Swim Team Clinic. Each full swim lesson session is 8 days long, with 30 minutes per lesson. The YMCA swim team includes weekly practices and monthly meets, and trained coaches focus on stroke technique, endurance, and fitness during practices.

• Schedule: Swim lessons run in 8-day sessions with 30-minute lessons; Youth Swim Team Session 1 runs September 15–December 11, and Session 2 runs January 6–March 28, with weekday afternoon and evening practices. Youth under 19 years are not allowed in the facility after 9 PM.
• Price: Group swim lessons fee: Members $52, Non-Members $74. Private swim lessons fee: Members $25 per single 30-minute lesson or $80 per package of four 30-minute lessons; Non-Members $35 per single 30-minute lesson or $130 per package of four 30-minute lessons. Little bobbers class fee: Members $31, Non-Members $42. Youth Swim Team Session 1 fee: Youth (5 years old to 8th Grade) $131 per session and high school students $68 per session. Swim Team Clinic fee: $63.
The Columbus Youth Swim Club (CYSC) is a competitive swim team with weekly practices and monthly meets, and swim team participants are required to be YMCA members per Nebraska YMCA Swim League policy. All new swimmers swim with a coach during the first week of practice to make sure they qualify for the swim team, with a full refund if they cannot successfully complete the swim. The YMCA swim team promotes healthy lifestyles while embracing the four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
At the Columbus Family YMCA, the stated mission is to strengthen the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The organization is a United Way Member.
Children of diaper age must wear an approved swim diaper, and clean balls, diving rings or sticks, noodles, goggles, and similar items are permitted in the pool if they are clean and in good working condition. No person is permitted to use the pool without first taking a warm water shower using soap, glass containers are not allowed in the facility, and food and drink items are not allowed in the pool area, except water and water bottles for those exercising on the pool deck. The Warm Water Pool is for out of high school and older use only, with water temperature around 94°F and a maximum capacity of 24 persons; the Lap Swimming Pool has water temperature around 82°F and a maximum capacity of 237 persons; and the Whirl Pool is for out of high school and older use only, with water temperature at or below 104°F and a maximum capacity of 12 persons.
