About
Scott Dirck Golf Junior Golf Programs offers golf lessons and junior golf programs that include full swing with irons and drivers, chipping, short putting, lag putting, bunker play, driving, and putting. Each session includes games and challenges as part of the instruction.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
Scott Dirck Golf Junior Golf Programs offers year round programs that include fun and learning about the game of golf. Each program covers all aspects of the golf swing and includes instruction in proper etiquette and safety while on the course. Each day of the program places emphasis on one aspect of the swing, including grip, stance, posture, aim, and tempo, and each session uses multiple stations to keep the student-to-coach ratio small. Activities in the programs include teamwork and strategic thinking.
Mini Masters (ages 4–5) introduces the game of golf in an age-appropriate environment, and high school and college players assist with instruction in this group. Birdies (ages 6–7) introduces the concept of par and the differences between clubs and shot types. Eagles (ages 8–9) focuses on advancing all areas of a junior golfer’s game, including a variety of chipping techniques and bunker play. Albatross (ages 10–13) introduces goal setting and pre-shot routines and develops understanding of on-course play, par concepts, and basic scorekeeping. Elite (ages 14–18) focuses on advanced skill development and on-course performance, including course management and mental skills, and is described as ideal for juniors competing in tournaments, wanting to play on their high school team, or preparing for college golf opportunities.
PGA Professional Scott Dirck is the Director of Instruction and brings over 30 years of experience to the program. Scott has been named Minnesota's PGA Teacher of the Year and has been recognized by Golf Digest as one of the top instructors in the state. Scott has been developing champions for over 30 years, worked as an apprentice under John Basten at Alexandria Golf Club from 1996–2003, and owned and operated the Scott Dirck Golf Academy in Alexandria, Minnesota for 14 years before selling the facility in December 2024. Scott and his staff were nationally recognized as being among the top fitters for Ping for many years.
The program’s mission statement is that golf is not just a sport but an experience, and that the goal is to make each session enjoyable and memorable while fostering a genuine love for the game in every junior. Scott serves as a mentor by guiding students through tournament preparation, college selection, and communicating with college coaches to support the students' athletic and academic goals. Scott Dirck Golf serves the areas of Alexandria, Minnesota; St. Cloud/Sartell, Minnesota; New London/Spicer, Minnesota; and Central Minnesota. Online registration is available, and spots are limited with early sign-up recommended.
