About

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington offers club-based activities where youth attend to participate in programs, spend time with friends, and interact with positive and encouraging adults. The program operates across 26 sites that serve as safe havens and are open when schools are not. At all BGCGW sites, the organization uses a model called the Formula for Impact, which focuses on Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles, and includes high-yield learning activities, targeted programs, and regular attendance.

• Price: We welcome every child for a nominal annual membership fee, but will not turn any child away for inability to pay.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington serves nearly 12,000 youth each year through regular Club membership and community outreach. The organization follows five key elements for positive youth development, an adopted strategy from its National Headquarters, as a roadmap to reach its priority outcomes of Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles. According to reported outcomes, 100% of Club kids graduate high school on time, 100% of seniors pursue postsecondary options, and 65% state that Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington saved their life. The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington is to help boys and girls of all backgrounds, especially those who need it most, build confidence, develop character, and acquire skills needed to become productive, civic-minded, responsible adults. BGCGW is not affiliated with individuals or vendors who sell goods to raise money for its Clubs or related programs. The organization has received a Charity Navigator 4-STAR rating.
