Camp Carr Summer Camp offers a traditional outdoor camp experience with activities such as rockwall climbing, sports on sports fields, archery at an archery range, hiking on trails, crafting in a dedicated crafting zone, and swimming in an outdoor pool. Campers take part in sports, games, arts, music, swimming, science, pizza lunch, and themed options such as Art in Nature, Archery, Mountain Biking Camp, Ultimate Outdoor Adventure, Outdoor Cooking, PE, science experiments, cooking, and dance. Weekly themes include Journey to the Wild West, The Great Outdoors, Star-Spangled 4th, Science Shenanigans, Sports Mania, Seasons Alive!, Legendary Heroes Week, Battle of the Colors, Eras Exploration, Adventure Carnival, and Gold Medal Summer, along with Tuesday Dress Up and Friday special events.

The regular camp day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for full-day campers, with half-day options from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and extended day hours available from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Adventure Camp groups are organized by age and grade as Jr. Camp (4-year-olds), Thunderbirds (Kindergarten), Rangers (1st Grade), Scouts (2nd Grade), Pathfinders (3rd Grade), Explorers (4th Grade), Trailblazers (5th Grade), and Pioneers (6th–7th Grade). The camp includes a CIT Camp for campers aged 13 and 14, Ability Camp as a “camp within a camp” for campers who require smaller ratios with full and half day options and an application process, and a Preschool Camp for ages 3–5 available through the Growing Up Wild Preschool Summer Enrichment Program at the Child Learning Center in Annandale.
Camp Carr Summer Camp offers private swim lessons during or after camp with weekly signup links, curbside drop off and pickup, pizza lunch one day per week, and field trips. Families have access to a Camp Family App with push alerts, news, events, photos, and updates, as well as Parent Information Sessions via Zoom and an in-person Welcome to Camp Night.
River Crossing YMCA operates Camp Carr Summer Camp and is a charitable, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to strengthening communities through membership and programs that foster youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility for all. River Crossing YMCA supports veterans, cancer survivors, individuals with special needs, and youth through programs such as free 7th grade memberships and food assistance.
