New Logic Marine Science Camp follows a “hands-on, feet-wet” outdoor education model and offers a marine and environmental education based learning experience. The program uses award-winning curricula, with topics that include biology, chemistry, engineering, geology, and conservation, and is free from an average classroom’s constraints. Each location offers its own field sampling opportunities and a unique glimpse into marine, estuarine, and aquatic environments, and the general core curriculum is updated seasonally. The program is taught by real scientists and a team of highly experienced scientists and educators, and runs small scale programs with specific attendee-to-staff ratios and program sizes to create a safe atmosphere.
In 2007, the program was first launched in Lavallette, NJ. New Logic Marine Science Camp states that its mission is to ignite passion for marine science, conservation, and environmentalism in the next generation of scientists worldwide through its “hands-on, feet-wet” outdoor education model. The program has been voted “Best Camp” of 2012–2024 and lists partners and affiliations that include Anne Arundel County, Berkeley Township, Hidden Pond, Isla Bella, Eco Experience, Neptune Township, Middletown Recreeation, NJ DEP, NJ Maritime Museum, Rumson Recreation, Spring Lake, Stafford Township, and Key School.
Parent testimonials describe the camp as a great camp with dedicated staff, and note that campers “had a great time and learned so much,” “couldn’t wait to go every morning to camp,” and “learned a lot of cool facts about marine life.” Parents also describe the organization and communication as outstanding, and mention that the student to counselor ratio and age groups were “perfect” and that they would look for the program again the following year.
