EcoVentures Surf School

EcoVentures Surf School offers surf lessons for kids and adults. The lessons include a soft foam surfboard, leash, and wax, and participants bring water and a towel. School programs include hands-on science lessons, classroom-style programs, and field study programs.

Programs

• Surf lessons for kids and adults — Minimum age is 8 years old; participants must know how to swim and be comfortable in the water · Monday-Friday mornings by appointment; in-season Monday-Saturday with lessons at 7:45am and 8:55am; no lessons after 10am
• Custom surf program for your group — Available for groups; contact EcoVentures for more information
• School programs — For all ages · Hands-on science lessons and customizable programs including classroom, auditorium style, and field study programs
• Classroom EcoVentures — Pre-K through K; all other programs are available for school year students · Available during the school year · Hands-on science programs for in-class field trips; Pre-K through K programs are 30 minutes each; all other programs are 45-60 minutes unless otherwise noted
• Field study programs — Grades K-12; also described as for all ages and all groups · Average length is 120 minutes; requires a chaperone to student ratio of 1:10; takes place outside of the classroom at a pre-determined destination

About the provider

EcoVentures was founded by David Matagiese. The instructors are CPR and First Aid certified, and the surf school is described as award winning and the only licensed and insured surf instruction in Cape May. The company says it was born from a passion to get people outside and actively enjoying the outdoors while teaching youth life lessons through logical thinking, resilience, grit, hard work, failure, and success.
