• Ages: 4–13 years old
• Schedule: Summer camp sessions in 2026 for ages 4–7 on July 6–10 and July 13–17, and for ages 8–13 on July 20–24, August 10–14, and August 17–21
Dream Camps is described as a Martial Arts, Mindfulness, Movement, Nature Summer Camp that combines enriching nature arts and martial arts activities. In camp sessions, children are free to lead, use their outdoor voices, and use sticks and dirt as learning instruments, with nature described as the classroom through open-ended nature-immersive activities. Some core elements of the outdoor nature programs are self-directed learning and adventure-based play, and programs are structured with mixed age groups so kids can learn from one another. Camps are tailored to different ages, are offered for several weeks in the summer for ages 4 and up, and are also offered as outdoor summer camp, mini camps, and workshops at local parks and nature areas throughout the year. Dream states that it provides families with holistic nature enrichment programs centered around fun, discovery, mindfulness, and stewardship.
The nature programs take place in several parks and nature areas throughout Montclair and surrounding areas. One parent shared that their 9.5-year-old and 7-year-old woke up excited, packed their own lunches and bags, and came home with stories of tug o’war, widdling survival tools, building forts in the woods, learning karate, hiking, and other games, and said it was hard to tell them the week was over. Another parent said their 7-year-old and almost 10-year-old were outside daily, explored the local forest, learned new survival skills, played games, built forts, and laughed. Other parents reported that their child “loved camp,” came home excited to talk about the day, and that twins felt their time at camp was a highlight of the summer after many months without fun activities and independence.
