About
Philly Art Center offers After School Art, Summer Camp, Vacation Camp, and several weekly class options including FUNdamentals Class, Art Start Class, and a 4pm Class. The program also includes Adult Drawing Class and Adult Clay Class as part of its art offerings for grown-ups.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
The program’s mission states that its goal is to develop dynamic, creative thinkers while fostering joy for arts and self-expression, with a philosophy that emphasizes process over product and what occurs during the act of art-making. The leadership team includes Johanna Roebas, Frankie Parker, Gabriela Medeiros, Micaela Wilner, Yaya Milton, Carmen Marcucci, Christopher Wallace, Matthew Sbraccia, Anna Rosenberg, and Abigail Reeth. Philly Art Center offers classes for both adults and kids and provides After School Art with school pick-up, with multiple locations serving different neighborhoods.
Parent and student feedback includes comments from a FUNdamentals Class parent thanking the program for nurturing a child’s love of art and creativity, and an Art Start Class parent who described these as the best classes they have taken with both of their kids. An Adult Drawing Class student noted enjoying the variety of techniques, exercises, and the class size, and an Adult Clay Class student described that class as the best part of their week. A 4pm Class parent shared that their child always felt like a “rock star” leaving class and looked forward to Tuesdays, and a Vacation Camp parent reported that their child was loving art camp and asked to sign up again for the summer.
