Say It With Clay offers art therapy programs that give participants a hands-on clay experience. The program includes open enrollment art creation sessions for anyone interested in working with clay in a structured setting. Say It With Clay is a non-profit organization with a mission to help people with diverse special needs benefit from the therapeutic power of clay. Its mission includes providing affordable art therapy programs for special needs individuals of all ages using the unique potential of clay to enhance and advance the psychotherapeutic process. The program utilizes a hands-on therapeutic approach using clay to offer clients alternative channels for communication, with programming in a culture created to meet the needs of all through inclusion and peer-to-peer encouragement. Therapeutic programs target specific needs such as grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, Alzheimer’s and dementia, cancer, and other emotionally debilitating conditions, and also offer open enrollment art creation sessions to anyone interested in a hands-on clay experience.
Say It With Clay’s founder and CEO, Abbie Kasoff, has degrees in art therapy and ceramics from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, and 25 years of experience in the Human Services field. Abbie has used her network of relationships with the special needs community, school districts, human services organizations, and healthcare providers to grow Say It With Clay’s clientele, focusing on economically and developmentally disadvantaged individuals.
