About
Cranford YMCA Youth Programs include youth swim lessons, group and individual instructional swim, youth and adult swim lessons, and water fitness, lap swim, family swim, and water exercise. The program also offers youth sports classes and leagues, basketball clinics, dance classes, taekwondo, group fitness classes, and personal training. Additional options include School Age After Care, Before Care & After Care, summer camp, birthday parties, pool parties, lifeguard training courses, and Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid training.
• Schedule: Cranford YMCA Summer 2026 Session runs June 28–August 22, with priority registration for Family Members beginning Thursday, June 11 at 9am and registration for Program and Non-Members beginning Monday, June 15 at 9am.
The Cranford YMCA Youth Programs take place at a branch of the Westfield Area YMCA, which includes amenities such as a fitness center, gymnasium, indoor pool, racquetball, sauna, steam room, multipurpose space, conference rooms, a gross motor skills room, an outdoor playground, a playground, and nine early learning classrooms. The Westfield Area YMCA is a nonprofit human service organization with a mission to develop the full potential of every individual and family through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The organization has served the communities of Cranford, Garwood, Mountainside, and Westfield since 1923 and has been celebrating two years of the Cranford YMCA since February 2024.
Cranford YMCA Youth Programs are part of a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Y states that everyone is welcome, regardless of age, ability, income, or background, and it is dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion, and the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Community involvement connected to these programs includes the Cranford YMCA Bathing Suit Drive, the Strong Kids+ Annual Support Event Puppy Yoga with Home for Good Dogs Rescue, and the Cranford YMCA Vitalant Blood Drive. Financial assistance for YMCA programs and memberships is available to individuals and families with a bona fide financial hardship who live or work in Westfield, Cranford, Garwood, or Mountainside, NJ.
