Taubenslag Productions Theater Day Camp and THEATERWEEK features theater all morning and fun and games all afternoon, including swimming, games, competitions, scavenger hunts, charades, sing down, relay races, Carnival, Jersey Boardwalk, arts & crafts, theatrical workshops, dances, miniature golf, Gaga Pit, volleyball, and Cast Parties. Campers rehearse musical productions, and roles are provided for all campers in all shows. THEATERWEEK produces a full-scale musical with costumes, props, originality and audience participation in just five days starring students, working with groups of 50 to 200 kids.

• Ages: Entering 1st grade–16 years old
• Schedule: 8-week summer program; campers rehearse Monday–Thursday from 9 am to 12 noon and perform musical productions every Friday morning at 9:30 am

The program runs for 8 weeks for teens and kids entering 1st grade up to 16 years old, and Theater Camp is divided into Upper Camp for grades 6–9 and Lower Camp for grades 1–5. Campers produce an elaborate musical production each week for the first six weeks, and weeks 7 and 8 are reserved for the annual “Broadway Spectacular.” Teenagers entering 8th grade through 10th grade rehearse Teen Scenes plays for three weeks and present their shows on the third Thursday during the 1st and 2nd session. The camp is the only theater day camp that performs 9 shows in 8 weeks, offers a field trip to Broadway for all campers enrolled in Session 3, and holds Color War and Camp Prom during the last week of Session 3. Before and after care is available for Theater Day Camp.

Taubenslag Productions’ Theater Day Camp is supervised by teaching and theater professionals with combined experience of over 70 years in education and children's theater. The leadership team includes Michael Taubenslag as Theater Camp Director/Owner and Elliott Taubenslag as Founder of Taubenslag Productions. Theater Day Camp has been operating for 36 years, has been running since 1990, and the Theater Day Camp operated at Middlesex County College for 30 years, where the company was the resident Children's Theater Company for 19 years. Taubenslag Productions began its residence at the Jan Hus Theater in New York City in 1964, has been producing shows for over 50 years, has been bringing theater arts to schools for over 40 years, and the original, award-winning children’s THEATERWEEK workshop has been bringing theater arts to schools for over 35 years. THEATERWEEK has been running for over 30 years and is described as a National Award Winner for BEST CHILDREN’S PROGRAM IN THE USA.

The Theater Day Camp was honored by the New Jersey State Senate, the New Jersey General Assembly and the Middlesex County Freeholders for Artistic Excellence and over 25 years of service to children in Middlesex County. The company won a national award for Best Children's Program in the US, and the award-winning Theater Day Camp received recognition from the New Jersey State Senate, the New Jersey General Assembly and the Middlesex County Freeholders for Artistic Excellence for over 25 years of service to children in Middlesex County. Founder Elliott Taubenslag received the National Recreation and Parks Association’s Dorothy Mullen Arts & Humanity Award, the New Jersey Recreation and Parks Association Award for Excellence in Programming, and the distinguished Governor's Award for outstanding achievement in educational theater from New Jersey Governor Thomas Kean. Taubenslag Productions’ productions are fast-paced, Broadway-style musical comedies for kids with lots of audience participation. The Theater Day Camp is described as one of the most affordable summer Theater Day Camps in New Jersey. The program’s stated focus is on building kids' confidence and self-esteem, using theater to teach kids how to break out of their shells and become confident in public speaking and their everyday life.
