Since 2013, GameU has worked with over 10,000 private students in one-on-one learning environments. The program uses video games to engage students and teens, helping them learn complex programs and develop digital STEAM skills. GameU offers a STEAM-based curriculum developed by gaming and technology professionals, with over 1,300 hours of class content and more than 220 unique modules, including specialized options through its All Abilities Program and custom learning experiences. Classes are taught live by industry professionals whose experience includes studios such as DreamWorks, Activision, and LucasArts, and titles such as League of Legends, Star Wars, X-Men, Golden Eye, and Spiderman, and instructors are trained in behavioral support.

GameU provides live 1:1 virtual class options, a 1:1 Program designed to support students of all ages and abilities, flexible weekly or bi-weekly class times, and pro-taught group workshop sessions that run every week. Enrolled students have access to Project Spotlights weekly events and over 750 hours of free activities each year. Instruction is supported by three pillars: live instruction, 1:1 training for teaching staff, and on-demand learning through Orbit, GameU’s proprietary teaching platform, which is part of its virtual learning approach. GameU’s Hybrid+ Program works with K–12 schools and districts in the United States and around the globe, and students connect with peers through virtual events, workshops, and collaborative projects.

One student, Ryan, shared that after his first class he felt like he really belonged and had a family with others who were like him. A parent, Jade, described the staff at GameU as enthusiastic, organized, and working as a team. Another parent, Erica, stated that the instructors at GameU connected with her students in a way she had not seen before, and that her students created a variety of projects, including coding projects in Scratch and robotics with moving parts.
