Children Academy is a family-owned childcare center founded by Liz and Femi in 1999 in Long Island, New York. It uses a research-backed curriculum that follows a whole-child approach to education. Teachers scaffold learning and guide children to problem solve by expanding their curiosity through play. Before beginning their early education journey, each child receives a developmental screening, and a Unique Education Plan is created for each child. Families receive periodic academic assessments and report cards, and parent-teacher conferences are held twice a year.
Children Academy’s centers are custom fitted from the ground up with families in mind and use the latest safety technologies, including a lockdown system, touch-free buildings, and electronic sanitation technology. The program also uses applications to keep parents up to date on events of the day.
Academy teachers are Certified Child Development Associates and must maintain their academic certification and CPR certification throughout their employment. Teachers are selected through a rigorous screening process, and candidates are hired for nurturing tendencies and academic qualifications. Staff receive training on promoting child mental health wellness, complete a New Hire Professional Development Program within the first 90 days, and participate in ongoing annual professional development. Children Academy offers scholarships and tuition reimbursement programs through local New Jersey colleges for teachers in training and states a commitment to lifelong learning for staff.
