About
Stockton CSI Summer Camp has campers work as part of an elite team of investigators and professionals to solve a murder, collecting evidence at a mock murder scene, taking fingerprints, and gaining experience with DNA analysis, impressions, forensic odontology (bite marks), ink analysis, chemical analysis, hair and fibers, blood typing, and spatter analysis. Campers file evidence requests and analyze the results, interview witnesses and persons of interest, learn how to question suspects and witnesses, use techniques that investigators use to learn the facts in a case, and learn how to know when people are telling the truth or lying or when memories may be distorted. They prepare a case for a criminal murder trial, learn jury selection techniques, learn strategies for presenting their cases and making arguments in a camp courtroom, try the case in front of a judge and jury, and then find out what really happened from a movie filmed before camp started.

• Schedule: Over 5 days
• Price: The camp registration fee covers all camp costs. The all-inclusive price includes all meals, room and board, classes taught by experts, hands-on investigative and trial experience, and field trips.
Over 5 days, campers take field trips to locations which may include the Medical Examiner’s Autopsy Room, the Atlantic City Police Department, a Juvenile Victim Services Facility, and the County Jail, and learn what life is like in jail for those awaiting trial and in prison for those who are convicted. The program includes extensive discussions of careers in Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, Forensic Psychology, and the Law, and campers learn what college majors and courses provide preparation for these careers, as well as potential career choices with the police, FBI, corrections, and in related fields.
Stockton CSI Summer Camp is a non-profit program celebrating its 20th year, and every camp session features a different murder case. Campers work with university professors with Ph.D.s in their disciplines and extensive research experience, along with highly-trained staff consisting of Stockton faculty with doctoral degrees and graduate students, and the program connects young people with world class experts. Campers also work with state police, a K-9 unit, corrections officers, victim services providers, a medical examiner investigator, and a former JAG officer and current attorney. The camp is led by Camp Directors Dr. Duntley and Dr. Christine Tartaro, who co-founded the Stockton CSI summer camp in 2007, and Stockton University is an Equal Opportunity Institution. Stockton CSI is the only residential summer camp of its kind in the area, and 2026 camps list Camp 1, Camp 2, and Camp 3 as sold out.
