About

Haddonfield Friends School Summer Camp includes hands-on STEM education, original theater works and performances, yoga, and outdoor art classes in the garden. Campers take part in monarch butterfly parades, walks in the dell, gardening in the spring and fall, and winter sledding in the graveyard. The program also includes experiential learning in the historic town and region, student-led community service projects, and activities where middle school buddies mentor preschoolers, such as making pasta as part of a Strega Nona literature unit.

• Ages: 2–13 years old

Haddonfield Friends School was established in 1786. The school’s mission states that it prepares joyful and inquisitive young minds to carry the light of confidence, critical thinking, creativity, and stewardship in a diverse community of learners. The Head of School is Matthew Sharp. Community involvement includes student-led community service projects that take place around the globe.

Parent and student testimonials describe Haddonfield Friends School as a warm, caring community that offers personal attention from teachers and administrators, with a curriculum that includes activities such as yoga and making pasta as part of a Strega Nona literature unit. One middle school student describes the teachers, kids, and others at the school as inspirational, kind, patient, and passionate, and notes that the small environment allows teachers to help students who struggle with a subject while also stimulating other children. Another parent describes the school as a loving community that embraces individual children, and the same middle school student calls it “a great place with even greater people.”
