Camp Veritans

Camp Veritans offers programs for ages 3 through 10th grade. Activities and experiences include daily Red Cross swim instruction, all camp activities, specialty programs, electives, hot kosher lunch every day, morning snack for younger campers, afternoon ice cream or ice pop, and trips that begin with El Al for 2nd and 3rd grade.

• Yeladim — Pre-K & 3 Year Old; 1/2 Day Options
• Kinneret — Kindergarten & 1st Grade
• El Al — 2nd & 3rd Grade · Trips included: 2 day trips per summer + 1 in-camp Late Night.
• Negev — 4th & 5th Grade · Trips included: 3 day trips + 1 in-camp overnight.
• Galil — 6th & 7th Grade · Trips included: weekly day trips or in-camp experiences + 1 in-camp overnight.
• Masada — 8th & 9th Grade · Trips included: up to 3 trips per week + two 2-night overnight trips + 1 in-camp overnight.
• Counselor in Training (CIT) — 10th Grade

• General schedule: The camp is divided into Lower Camp and Upper Camp, with a dedicated program for older campers: the Masada Teen Trip and Travel Program. The programs are for ages 3 through 10th grade.

About the provider

Camp Veritans was established in 1949. The leadership team includes Director Kristi Clave and Assistant Director Allie Goodman. The camp is ACA accredited and has been ACA Accredited since 2018. Its credentials also list all lifeguards as American Red Cross certified, all Unit Leaders as CPR certified, and all staff as background checked.

One of the most comprehensive safety programs of any day camp in New Jersey; full-time armed security; registered nurse; licensed social worker; Haledon Police Department monitoring; secure sign-in and sign-out; cameras throughout camp; Homeland Security evaluations; active shooter training for all leadership and staff; camper-to-counselor ratios: Yeladim & first-year Kinneret 6:1, Upper Kinneret and El Al 8:1, Negev, Galil and Masada 10:1; the community warmly welcomes families of all backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs.
