Project U.S.E.

Project U.S.E. offers the Wildcat Program, with hiking, backpacking, teambuilding initiative activities, rock climbing, rappelling, high and low ropes courses, and canoeing. It also offers the Pedal Farmers Program, which engages young adults from Newark in urban gardening and horticulture every summer, and online and virtual programs with team building exercises, initiative games, small group activities, and debriefing.

Programs

• Wildcat Program — Provides outdoor adventures; activities include hiking, backpacking, teambuilding initiative activities, rock climbing, rappelling, high and low ropes courses, and canoeing.
• Pedal Farmers Program — Engages young adults from Newark in urban gardening and horticulture every summer, beginning in 2007.
• Professional Development Workshops — Experiential education and training programs tailored to client needs.
• Online and Virtual Programs — Online and virtual environmental and experiential education courses with team building exercises, initiative games, small group activities, and debriefing.

About the provider

Since 1982, almost 1,000 children, teenagers, and parents have joined Project U.S.E. in sharing outdoor education. The program’s mission is to provide people of all ages, enmeshed in modern-day life, with opportunities to undergo positive, personal growth through wilderness experiences and journeys. The Pedal Farmers program includes community service projects and donating a portion of profits to nonprofits serving the local community in Newark.
