Hoboken Children's Theater

Hoboken Children’s Theater offers year-round musical theater and acting classes for ages 3 through young adult. During the academic year, Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions include singing, dancing, and acting classes. Its offerings include "Make It Musical!" for children at least 3 years old and "Songs & Scenes" for Grades K-2.

• Make It Musical! — Must be at least 3; Pre-K3-Pre-K4 · Saturdays 9:00-9:40 am; Saturdays 1:15-1:55 pm; Sundays 9:00-9:40 am; Sundays 12:00-12:40 pm; Sundays 2:15-2:55 pm · $200 · A parent or caregiver must stay with student. No make-up classes are available. Class is currently sold out.
• Songs & Scenes — Grades K-2 · Tuesdays 3:15-4:00 pm; Wednesdays 3:15-4:00 pm; Fridays 3:15-4:00 pm; Saturdays 10:00-10:45 am · $300 · Final performance is listed for the last day of class. Saturdays have no class on October 31.

About the provider

Hoboken Children’s Theater was founded in 2002. Its producing arm is frequently asked by prominent theater writers to help develop, workshop, or perform new works. The organization has developed shows for Theatrical Rights Worldwide, Broadway Licensing, and Stage Rights. Awards mentioned include Broadway World nominations, finalist for the Hoboken Chamber of Commerce’s Educator of the Year finalists in 2019, Hulafrog’s Most-Loved Acting Studio 2017, New Jersey Family magazine’s Top Acting Program 2015, and the Park Performing Arts Center’s Showtime Award 2009.

Students who withdraw at least 1 week prior to the first day of class receive a full refund. Students who withdraw within a week and the spot can be filled receive a full refund. If the spot cannot be filled, refund is at HCT’s discretion from 50-100%. Students who withdraw after the first class, but before the second, receive a 50% refund. No refunds are given after casting or for non-production classes after the second class. Attendance at rehearsals is very important. HCT may cancel any class that does not meet enrollment requirements.
