The Strand Center for the Arts, 400 Clifton Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701
About
The Strand Theater Camps for Children and Teens offer theater camps for children and teens in a historic performing arts setting. The program takes place at THE STRAND, which also presents the intimate BACKSTAGE PASS series as part of its live entertainment offerings.
• Schedule: The Box Office is open on Fridays between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM, Saturdays between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and on show days from 4:00 PM until 1 hour after show start.
THE STRAND has brought cultural arts to the Jersey Shore since its inception in 1922. Architect Thomas Lamb designed the theater with exemplary sight lines and no obstructing pillars or uprights, and it is known as one of the best acoustical theaters in the nation and a top live entertainment venue. THE STRAND is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, and has been voted the Best Live Music/Concert Venue.
Parents and audience members have shared experiences at THE STRAND, including comments about seeing many concerts there, returning across multiple generations, and noting comfortable seating, great views, and an elegantly restored space. Testimonials also mention friendly and helpful employees, well-maintained restrooms, and a bar with drink specials and bartenders described as friendly.
