Monmouth County Park System Youth Programs include a range of activities such as auditions for the musical “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” a Tweens on Stage program that creates an original play called “Freneau & the Surrender of the Aurora” for family and friends, and Miss Melissa's Music for Aardvarks - Summer Session where adults sing and dance with their children. The programs also include swim lessons at Big Brook that cover basic introductory skills, a Child and Babysitting Safety course, and T'ai Chi Chih Discipline - Joy Through Movement practice.

The Monmouth County Park System Youth Programs are part of a larger system that offered 4,686 recreation programs in 2024. The Board of Recreation Commissioners states that it is committed to improving the quality of life of the citizens of Monmouth County by providing park and recreation areas, facilities, programs, and services, and by furnishing recreational and educational opportunities in an effective, efficient, and economical manner. The Monmouth County Park System has achieved national accreditation status among park and recreation agencies in 1994, 2004, and 2014, conferred by the National Commission for Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies and sanctioned by the American Academy for Parks and Recreation Association, and it was the first park and recreation agency in the nation accredited and is one of 71 such accredited agencies in the nation. The system includes over 30 park areas, 18,506 total acres, 157.8 miles of trails, and recorded 9,225,775 park visits in 2024, with Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park having the highest visitation that year. In 2024, 823 volunteers contributed 19,000 volunteer hours through the Volunteers in Parks program, and the RecAssist for Individuals and Families and RecAssist for Groups programs offer discounted programs to eligible county residents.
