About the provider
MYAA started in 1965 as the Lenape Youth Athletic Association (LYAA). LYAA transitioned to MYAA during the 1990s, and MYAA formally organized as a non-profit in 1997. MYAA is a non-profit organization dedicated to youth sports in the township of Medford, NJ and is run by volunteers. It provides organized sports for over 7,300 participants and has a volunteer force of over 700 people.
MYAA is separate from and not governed by the Township of Medford. Coaches must meet MYAA coaching requirements, including Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Certification, Positive Coaching Alliance Double-Goal Coach certification, background checks through Sports Engine, Abuse Awareness Training, and agreement to MYAA’s Code of Conduct.
