Middletown Arts Center Programs include activities such as a production of The Little Mermaid, a Summer Nights Concert, Summer Arts Camps, an Evening Painting Workshop, and Beginner and Intermediate Adult Tap classes. The program also offers a children’s matinee performance of The Little Mermaid for children 10 and under.

• Schedule: Building hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm, and the building is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and weekday evenings except for scheduled events; The Little Mermaid runs 07/10/2026–07/19/2026 with a children’s matinee at 2 pm on July 11; the Summer Nights Concert (indoors) is on 07/23/2026; Summer Arts Camps run 06/15/2026–09/06/2024; the Evening Painting Workshop runs 07/20/2026–08/24/2026; Beginner Adult Tap and Intermediate Adult Tap run 06/29/2026–08/24/2026.
• Price: $10 children’s matinee for The Little Mermaid for children 10 and under; Summer Nights Concert (indoors) tickets are $10, with all proceeds benefiting the Middletown Arts Center.

The Middletown Arts Center is described as an award-winning, state-of-the-art facility with flexible recreation space suitable for a wide range of artistic and cultural activities, and it is located near a train station in a centralized area of Middletown’s 42-square-mile community. The Middletown Arts Center’s diverse programming is made possible by art educators who lead a variety of art programs and classes.

The Middletown Arts Center operates under the guidance of the Middletown Township Cultural & Arts Council (MTCAC), and the Volunteers of the Middletown Arts Center support its mission of cultivating and nurturing the work of local artists and serving the community through the arts. This program is made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners. The Middletown Township Cultural and Arts Council’s mission is to celebrate and promote the arts while enriching the community through arts programming, education, entertainment, and cultural connection for individuals of all ages and abilities, and to enhance the quality of life of local residents by supporting and promoting the arts.

The property on which the Middletown Arts Center sits was purchased by Middletown Township in 1998, and the Middletown Arts Center opened its doors to the public in March 2007. Leadership for the Middletown Arts Center includes Maggie O’Brien as Executive Director, Jake Oliver as Managing Director, Kathy Connolly as Theater Education Director, Jennifer Watson as Communications Director, and Charlene Aviles as Office Administrator. The board and council leadership includes Dr. William Anania (President), Kimberly Humphrey (Treasurer), Rosemarie Peters, Esq. (Secretary), Maureen Raisch (Middletown Township Committee Designee), Peter Isherwood (Superintendent’s Office Designee), and trustees Susan Bonardi, Kathleen Gramas, Susan Guzman, Jenn Nasta, Gerry Scharfenberger, Terri Vilardi, Jeanne Wall, and Stan Werse, Esquire.
