Hoop Dreamz is a basketball program led by Coach Billy Armstrong, a basketball coach and trainer associated with Hoop Dreamz. The program is connected to his work as Varsity Head Basketball Coach at Bergen Catholic High School and his broader efforts in basketball coaching and training.

Billy Armstrong is the Varsity Head Basketball Coach at Bergen Catholic High School and earned a Division I basketball scholarship to Davidson College in Davidson, NC. He played professional basketball for six years in Europe and the United States. Since 2002, he has been on a mission to help as many kids as he can fulfill their basketball potential. One of his stated philosophies is that true success can only be achieved by helping others become successful. Billy is a Bergen County native who spent parts of his childhood in Westwood, Oradell, and Rutherford, and he shares basketball and life lessons with boys and girls from across Bergen County and other nearby communities.
Hoop Dreamz has helped many players from Bergen and Rockland counties go on to play college basketball. Billy uses a “Trust, Care, and Commitment” coaching philosophy in his work with players. Since 2011, as Head Coach, he has led the Bergen Catholic Crusaders to back to back State Championships and two Tournament of Champions appearances in 2019 and 2021, along with 4 Big North League Championships, 3 Bergen County Jamboree Championships, and 3 State Sectional Titles in a row. Billy was influenced by Bob McKillop, who won multiple national Coach of the Year awards in 2008, and his former teammate Masai Ujiri is now Toronto Raptors President and GM and was named the NBA’s 2013 Executive of the Year while with the Denver Nuggets.
Coach Billy Armstrong has written a book titled “The Daily Confidence Playbook and Journal.” The Daily Confidence Playbook and Journal provides short lessons, daily reflection, and practical exercises to help athletes, coaches, and driven individuals strengthen their mindset, build self-belief, and perform at their best. An upcoming Hoop Dreamz program offers 5 exclusive spots with Coach Billy Armstrong for a 30-day journey to transform game, mindset, and future, and it is open to 5 individuals, male or female, in grade 5 or up.
