• Ages: 4–13 years old
• Schedule: Before school, after school, and full-day options on certain non-school days
• Price: A $59.99 registration fee will be applied once per family, per academic year.
Before school runs from 7:00am to 9:05am, after school runs from 3:20pm to 6:30pm, and full-day sessions run from 7:00am to 6:30pm on school inservice days and holidays per the district calendar. Programs are built around an expert-developed curriculum, lab-based programming, and a lab-based model that includes team interaction to build leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. The program structure focuses on students completing homework first and then joining activities that help them get ahead in math and reading.
Leading Edge Before and After School uses trained teachers who evaluate students’ mastery of homework and provide academic support. The mission of the program is to support and nurture the whole child to help students learn and grow. Activities include engaging, research-based options that support social-emotional development, and the program honors diversity while bringing students together in a supportive atmosphere. Leading Edge is described as a top provider of before and after school programs for children at preschool, elementary, and middle schools across the country and is an Equal Opportunity Care Provider.
Leading Edge partners with preschool, elementary, and middle schools across the country and values being a partner to schools and families. The organization is committed to making programs affordable and gives back to communities through scholarships. On conference days and similar dates, full-day programs are available per the district calendar, and at many locations, late starts and early releases are included as part of the regular before and after school program.
Families and school administrators report that the curriculum offers more than a typical after-school program and centers on a well-balanced approach to learning. They describe academic components that include collaboration with teachers to address learning and tutoring needs, as well as organized learning fun from arts to activities. Families note that staff keep children engaged, that children enjoy the activities and projects, and that teachers make sure homework is completed each day. Some families say their children do not want to leave at pickup, and others mention that their children come home with a positive attitude, a bright smile, and stories about the day. Families also mention appreciation for after school teachers, up-to-date pictures, and staff availability to answer questions. According to program data, 96% of families would recommend Leading Edge to a friend.
