YMCA Camp Bernie offers day camp, overnight camp, school vacation camp, and kid and community events that include activities such as hiking, archery, climbing the climbing tower, and hiking through nature trails. Campers and groups can take part in challenge courses, team-building activities, and adventurous ropes courses, as well as themed experiences like Dino Discovery week where they uncover fossils, learn about prehistoric creatures, and join dino-themed hunts. The program also offers outdoor education programs with hands-on learning in nature and ecology, along with group day trips and group overnight trips.

Since 1956, YMCA Camp Bernie has operated as a year-round outdoor education and retreat center and a non-profit, charitable organization. It runs a traditional, co-ed overnight camp for kids entering grades 1–10, a day camp for children entering grades K–11, and Counselors-in-Training programs for older campers, and it also offers programs for schools, scouts, faith groups, or teams. Beyond summer, it operates as a vibrant Outdoor Education Center with family camps, family weekends, open house events, community enrichment lessons, winter and weekend cabin rentals, private rentals, and an Adventure Anywhere program that brings outdoor education or team-building to schools, community centers, workplaces, or places of worship. The mission is guided by the YMCA’s four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility, with an environment that encourages exploration, resilience, inclusion, and authentic connection. The property includes adventurous ropes courses, scenic wooded trails, cozy all-weather cabins, a peaceful pond, and versatile meeting spaces across 247 acres. The Adult + Pediatric CPR course offered at YMCA Camp Bernie is Red Cross–certified and includes AED use and first aid skills.
