The YMCA of the Jersey Shore traces its roots to 1874 in Red Bank and notes a 145-year history as a cause-driven organization. The Red Bank Family YMCA Day Camp is ACA accredited and uses CampDoc, a YMCA Preferred Vendor, as an electronic health record system to manage health forms, allergies, medications, and illness or injury tracking. The camp is described as an allergy-aware facility with a low camper-to-counselor ratio. Y staff receive extensive training before each camp season, are First Aid and CPR certified, and the program includes certified swim instructors and lifeguards.

The Role Model In Training Program (RMIT) is available for campers ages 13–15 who are interested in becoming summer camp counselors, and RMIT participants may earn certification in First Aid and CPR. Assistance for Preschool, School-Age, and RMIT summer camp is available for those who demonstrate need, while sports and specialty camp programs are not eligible for financial assistance. Basketball, flag football, and youth soccer specialty camps are offered in specific weeks for defined age groups, with an option to extend the camp day from 12:00–4:00 p.m. for an additional fee. Flag Football and Youth Soccer Specialty Camps are hosted in partnership with FC Monmouth.

Parents are required to complete CampDoc forms for each child attending summer camp, and quick links include information on what to bring to camp. A Parent Orientation allows caregivers to drop in to meet staff and pick up camper T-shirts, car placards, and FAQs. The leadership team includes Stanley Green, Cat Burns, and a Camp Coordinator. The Y states that its mission is to strengthen community by focusing on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, and to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
