Miss Yvonne Swim School offers swim lessons, including small group swim lessons and private swim lessons. The program also runs a summer camp that includes swimming instruction. Programs use the MYSS Swimming Curriculum, which was created based on Miss Yvonne’s American Red Cross instructor experience and Early Childhood Education experience and has been fine-tuned for over a decade based on the experiences of swimmers and instructors.

The Miss Yvonne Swim School has been teaching people to swim since it opened in 2002 and celebrated 20 years in 2022, serving over 200 students each year. Programs are led by trained and insured swim instructors. Miss Yvonne, the founder and lead instructor, is an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and is certified in American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and AED. She has an undergraduate degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, swam on the Division III NCAA Varsity Team at Stevens Institute of Technology, holds a Master’s Degree in Physical Education, and has been a licensed educator in the State of New Jersey for nearly 10 years, mainly at the PreK level. She taught swimming as a Health and Physical Education teacher for two years at the middle school level, has experience coaching proficient swimmers on a club swim team, and has worked as a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor.
The MYSS Curriculum was created to offer individualized instruction even when most swimmers are in a small group setting, and programs immerse children in water experiences led by trained and insured swim instructors. MYSS offers monthly recurring membership plans, and MYSS Monthly Membership registration is open. The program states a Camp Guarantee that if clients sign up and attend three consecutive weeks of MYSS Summer Camp, their child will learn how to swim strong enough to stay safe in the water or they will receive their money back.
The mission at Miss Yvonne Swim School is to imprint a lifelong relationship with the water and to provide swim lesson instruction in a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment. The mission also states a focus on personal relationships through customer service, on clients walking away with a love for swimming, on feeling safe and confident in their skills, on progressing to their fullest potential, and on every interaction with MYSS being enjoyable. The program’s vision is described as empowering young children to acquire a lifelong passion for aquatics through individualized swim instruction.
