The After-School Clay Program takes place at The Clay Pot pottery studio and focuses on working with clay. Participants take part in activities such as pottery painting, pottery wheel experiences, pottery wheel lessons, and pottery wheel and glazing workshops.
• Ages: 6–12 years old
The Clay Pot opened its doors in 2010. Its stated mission is, “We’re excited to share our passion for clay and creativity with you.” The studio notes that it grows every year with the support of its staff, students, and local community. The studio states that, unlike other paint-your-own pottery places, it also offers clients the option to work with clay, and that people of all ages come to experience wheel-experiences and wheel-lessons. All items made there are described as food safe, dishwasher and microwave safe, with handwashing recommended. The program is described as a totally different after-school experience, with an invitation to join and play with clay and to make friends and create memories that will last a lifetime.
