Spring Lake Theatre Children's Theatre and Dance Programs

Spring Lake Theatre Children's Theatre and Dance Programs take place within the larger Spring Lake Theatre programming, which features beautifully produced musicals and one-of-a-kind education programs. The programs are part of a long-running children’s theatre and dance offering that has been thriving for thirty-seven years. Many of the teachers in these programs were once students there themselves, and some former students have returned as performers, designers, directors, and choreographers in the theatre’s Broadway quality productions.

The programs operate under the leadership of Executive Director Patricia Barry. The Community House received an endowment in 1985, and the success of the Children’s Theatre and Dance Programs helps to keep the building active. The slogan of the Community House is “There’s Always Something Wonderful Happening Here.” The broader community has a history of involvement with theatre, including a “Town Play” production of Bye Bye Birdie sponsored by the Spring Lake Recreation Committee in 1976 and another play sponsored by the Mayor and Council the following summer.
