About
Art Seed Studio offers art classes, summer camp, birthday parties, and an immersive art making experience that includes both full day art camp and a half day summer art studio. The program also offers customizable party packages for birthday celebrations and uses top of the line art materials with engaging instruction led by experienced art educators.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Full day art camp sessions from August 3–14, 9am–3pm with aftercare options, and half day summer art studio sessions from June 22–July 2, 9am–Noon, Monday–Thursday
Art Seed Studio is a collaborative initiative between founder and lead teacher Angie Mikula and her husband, co-director Brian O'Leary. The mission of Art Seed Studio is to specialize in nurturing creativity through hands-on art experiences for all ages and to allow for an immersive art making experience personalized to individual interests and abilities.
Founder and lead teacher Angie Mikula is an artist and art educator with over two decades of teaching experience, is a Penn State alumna, and holds a Master’s Degree in Education from The College of New Jersey. She attained certification as an International Baccalaureate teacher and received the Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching, which granted her a six-month fellowship at the University of London’s Institute of Education in 2018. She was awarded the New Jersey Governor’s Teacher of the Year Award in 2019 and the Hunterdon County Teacher of the Year and Hunterdon County Governor's Teacher of the Year in 2020. Brian O'Leary graduated from Mason Gross School of Art with a BA in Visual Arts and Art History in 1992 and has pursued painting for the past three decades.
The majority of Angie’s teaching has taken place in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, and she previously led the art program at the American Community School of Athens, Greece. At Delaware Township School in Sergeantsville, New Jersey, she joined colleagues in establishing a Mindfulness practice for the school community and a Mindfulness garden. Brian is a volunteer and consultant in the non-profit space and works with international humanitarian charities to support fundraising efforts.
One parent shared, “Art Seed is a great local place where my daughter has attended both art classes and a week of art summer camp. Ms. Mikula is an awesome instructor, and we love that we get to continue learning and making art with her.”
