About
Educational Programming at Liberty Hall Museum includes a Guided Garden Tour, a Guided House Tour, and a virtual trip to Liberty Hall through virtual programs. The program also offers Toddler Time at Liberty Hall: Teddy Bear Picnic, curriculum-based, hands-on elementary programs in history, art, math, reading, and science, and middle school and high school programs that use primary source documents and hands-on activities to explore history, science, and math. Educational programs, community events, civic ceremonies, and holiday celebrations are also hosted as part of the museum’s offerings.
Liberty Hall Museum began welcoming the public to experience its history and participate in its future in the year 2000. The museum’s mission is to deepen visitors’ understanding of history and nature through the lens of the people who lived and worked there over its more than 250-year history, and to engage with the broader community by providing entertaining and educational programming that will inspire curiosity about the world around them and how that world has changed over time. Liberty Hall stands at the center of the American Revolution and academic excellence and has been home to trailblazing governors, congressmen, senators, assembly persons, philanthropists, and entrepreneurs, including William Livingston, New Jersey’s first elected governor and a signer of the United States Constitution. The site features an elegant English parterre garden and maze, plush gardens, magnificent grounds, and collections of antique furniture and decorative artifacts collected by seven generations, including the Livingston and Kean families. Liberty Hall Museum is a proud partner with RevolutionNJ, New Jersey’s official organization charged with planning and promoting the state’s commemoration of the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution. The leadership team includes Rachael Goldberg, Executive Director; Hannah Gaston, Director of Education; Megan Couch, Director of Grounds; Kayla Doyle, Curator of Archives; Natalya Cespedes, Scouts Coordinator; Isbett Checo, Special Events Coordinator; Caitlyn Rubinsky, Membership Coordinator; Alicia Sanford-Johnson, Special Occasions Coordinator; and Michaela Zoquier, Education & Outreach Coordinator.
