About
Community First Soccer offers competitive teams, development teams, recreation soccer, kids soccer, group training, team tryouts, pickup soccer, winter futsal, and summer and holiday camps. The program also offers advanced and development private and semi-private training classes, as well as Summer 2026 Development Pickup Soccer.
• Ages: 3–13 years old
• Schedule: Summer 2026 Development Pickup Soccer runs Saturdays from June 20 to August 15, 2026, 10:00–11:00 AM
• Price: Pickup Soccer is FREE and OPEN to all players.
Community First Soccer includes a SENIORS GROUP for players ages 10–13 and a JUNIORS GROUP for players ages 5–8 years old, with recreation soccer as an introductory class for beginner players ages 5–9. The program also offers kids classes for 3–4 year olds and special needs classes for 4–8 year olds. U8 and younger players participate in 4v4 league play against other teams, while U9 and older players train with the Competitive 2nd Team until prepared for competition, with 1st Teams competing in EDP (NJ) and 2nd Teams competing in MNJYSA (NJ). The program includes three 90-minute practices every week during the annual season, outdoor soccer league play during the fall and spring seasons, indoor futsal league play during the winter season, tournament entries every season, and pick-up soccer during the summer and winter seasons.
Community First Soccer describes its mission as a place where players can learn the fundamentals of soccer at a high standard while developing technical, physical, social, and psychological skills, guided by principles of growth and respect. The program uses a structured classroom setting focused on becoming an excellent student, with an ordered training curriculum, detailed training guides, weekly homework assignments, and seasonal player evaluations and feedback, and allows players to play across multiple teams for additional training and playing opportunities. Pickup soccer is described as building confidence, encouraging creativity, and giving kids a positive place to learn from each other and live the game without the pressures of coaches and parents, and at Community First Soccer, winter is futsal season.
The coaching staff is described as experienced and licensed, present at all practices and games, and coaches are required to have or be actively pursuing at least a USSF “D” Coaching License. The leadership team includes Roger Teixeira as Director of Coaching and Sharif Elzein as Director of Operations. Community involvement includes club events and player experiences with NY Red Bulls and Gotham FC, and families are invited to support Community First Soccer by making a donation or becoming a club sponsor to help pay expenses for community projects.
