About
Kids Programs at Mountain Creek offers skiing, snowboarding, terrain park sessions, and freestyle competitions in Slopestyle and Rail Jam. Kids Camp provides a 2-hour ski or snowboard lesson, and Vern’s Outdoor Park offers 30-minute sessions with extra small terrain park features for young children. Twisted Kids – Terrain Park Sessions, the Mountain Explorers Program, and the Freestyle Team focus on skiing, snowboarding, and terrain park riding at different levels, including structured skills progression for freestyle disciplines.
• Ages: 4–16 years old
• Schedule: Full-day Kids Camp lessons from 9am–4pm; Vern’s Outdoor Park 30-minute sessions on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays; Twisted Kids sessions on Sundays from January 18–March 1 with a final event on March 8, running 12–2pm; Mountain Explorers as a 6-week program with 3-hour on-snow sessions each week; Freestyle Team meeting Saturdays and Sundays for 10 weeks with snowboarding 8–11am and skiing 3–6pm
• Price: Mountain Explorers Program pricing includes 6 weeks of lessons; Freestyle Team cost is $999.
The Mountain Explorers Program is a 6-week all-inclusive program for children ages 7–15 who ski or ride with others of the same ability while progressing their abilities in a fun environment, and it is non-refundable and non-transferable. The Freeski & Snowboard Program at Mountain Creek is designed for athletes ready to push their limits and develop across freestyle disciplines from Slopestyle to Rail Jam, with a coaching philosophy centered on building well-rounded, fundamentally strong skiers and riders through structured skills progression so athletes gain the technical foundation and creative edge needed to succeed in competitive freeski and snowboard environments.
Vern’s Outdoor Park is built specifically for kids ages 6 and under, includes rental snowboard equipment during the 30-minute session, and requires a Day Ticket or Pass and adult participation, with access also available to children with a Full Day Access Ticket or Pass. Twisted Kids – Terrain Park Sessions are free coached terrain park sessions for intermediate skiers and snowboarders ages 6–16, require a valid Access Pass, and include a final event on March 8 where parents can see what participants have learned.
Kids Camp packages allow parents to spend the day elsewhere on the mountain while kids learn to ski or snowboard, and each package includes a Full Day Access ticket, lesson, and rental if necessary for skiers and snowboarders ages 4–12, with the child’s Full Day Access ticket and rental valid for the rest of the day. Kids Camp will be sold online only and must be purchased in advance to ensure availability, and participants are asked to arrive dressed and ready, with rental equipment fulfilled through the Red Tail Lodge Rental Shop and time allowed for the Rentals Pick-Up process.
The Mountain Explorers Program is designed for students from “never-ever” through advanced skiing or snowboarding, with students grouped by age and ability, and includes Access day tickets and rental equipment for use on program days only, with additional rentals or Access tickets required outside program days. During Mountain Explorers, rentals and Access cards are stored in the meeting room, which is also used for students to gear up and store equipment.
The Freestyle Team introduces athletes to freestyle competition in Slopestyle and Rail Jam, has a season that runs 10 weeks, and requires participants to join the Mountain Creek Ski Racing Club at the Freeski/Snowboard level. Freestyle Team group size is limited to 20 athletes in two groups of 10, membership in US Ski & Snowboard is required, and lift access is not included in the program purchase, so a season pass, triple play, or daily tickets are required. The Freestyle Team coaching staff consists of four coaches, two for skiing and two for snowboarding, each pursuing PSIA, USSS, or USASA Freeski/Snowboard certification.
