Lokai Rose has run outdoor summer camps for more than 7 years and operates The Wilderness Club summer camp organization, which has been running since 2014. Lokai Rose is a 501(c)3 nonprofit exotic animal rescue with a focus on abandoned, surrendered, or medically distressed animals such as snakes, lizards, tarantulas, and frogs, and it offers an adoption program to find homes for these rescued animals. The mission of Lokai Rose is to provide immersive wildlife and nature experiences that inspire respect for the natural world, teach about individual and collective responsibility to protect the planet for future generations, and strengthen the connection between humans and their environment through outdoor exploration, community engagement, exotic pet rescue, and reflection on how personal decisions affect the world.

The leadership team includes Executive Director Tina Lokai, Marketing Director Sam Barrere, Director of Education Amanda MacDermid, Philanthropy Manager Anna Lokai, and Events Coordinator Vickie Lokai. Tina Lokai graduated from Delaware Valley University in 2018 with a major in conservation and wildlife management; Sam Barrere holds a double major in marketing and communication studies from The College of New Jersey; and Amanda MacDermid graduated from William Paterson University with a degree in education and a specialization in earth science and has taught kindergarten and 2nd grade at Robert Erskine Elementary School in Ringwood, New Jersey. Lokai Rose is described as the culmination of lifelong dreams held by a family of five women in northern New Jersey who want to give back to wildlife, the environment, and their community, and the organization encourages community engagement.
