Santa Fe Children's Museum Summer Camp takes place at the Santa Fe Children’s Museum and connects campers with the museum’s experiential, inquiry-based hands-on activities. Campers can engage with features such as a public garden, a bubble table, and a climbing wall, along with programming in community agriculture, astronomy, biology, and other sciences.
• Schedule: The museum is open Sunday 12:00 pm–5:00 pm, and Wednesday through Saturday 10:00 am–6:00 pm.
The Santa Fe Children’s Museum states that its mission is to build upon a child’s sense of joy and discovery by cultivating habits of inquiry in the arts, sciences, and humanities. The museum offers regular weekly programs and special events that include experiential, inquiry-based hands-on activities and programming in community agriculture, astronomy, biology, and other sciences. Former museum volunteer and Santa Fe journalist Alex DeVore describes feeling connection with coworkers and families at the museum and reports gaining early insights into community, camaraderie, and doing something in the service of ideas greater than himself. He also states that he learned about the world and how to form and apply his own set of values during his time at the museum, and he credits many positive experiences after relocating to New Mexico to having first come to the museum as a volunteer.
