Sierra Chef Classes & Events offers cooking classes such as Classic Italian Sauces...Red, White & Green, Cream Puffs, Profiteroles & Other Puffy Things, Summer Inspired Frittatas, Ravioli 101, Fall Soups, A Proper Pie, Yes, You Can Make All of These Breads in 2 Hours, Kid's Halloween Treats, Chicken Pot Pie, Fall Ravioli, Polenta, Creamy & Crispy, and Risotto. Class times include Saturday, July 25, 10am to 12pm; Saturday, August 1, 10am to 12pm; Saturday, August 15, 2pm to 4pm; Saturday, August 22, 10am to 12pm; Saturday, September 12, 10am to 12pm; Sunday, October 4, 10am to 12pm; Sunday, October 11, 10am to 12pm; Saturday, October 24, 10am to 12pm; Sunday, October 25, 10am to 12pm; Saturday, November 7, 10am to 12pm; Sunday, November 8, 10am to 12pm; and Sunday, November 8, 2pm to 4pm.

Cynthia Ferris-Bennett is the Owner and Chef at Sierra Chef. The mission statement is: "Expressing the language of LIFE through Food, Home & Garden." Cynthia was chosen as the Sierra Nevada Republican Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in 2018, Sierra Chef was selected for the Douglas County Spotlight Award for Retail in 2019, and Sierra Chef was chosen as the Business of the Year for Douglas County in 2023. Cynthia is a past President of Weddings of the West, belongs to the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, and works with charitable organizations in and around the Carson Valley.
