Engineering For Kids of Las Vegas West offers hands-on, project-based classes, labs, camps, workshops, after-school STEM classes, evening classes, birthday parties, and special events. Kids take part in specific activities such as building their own robo-arm, taking core samples from a potato, attempting to land an egg, designing and building a physical prototype of a Mars base, building with Lego SPIKE, programming robots, Minecraft camps, and Esports programs. Subjects taught include Robotics, Interactive Engineering, and Technology & Coding, and kids can explore areas such as aerospace, chemical, civil, electrical, electronic, environmental, industrial, marine, mechanical, robotics, and software engineering. Mission to Mars is described as one of Engineering For Kids’ most popular programs and includes Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Multidisciplinary Engineering, Minecraft Technology, and Robotics, with Mission to Mars with Minecraft using a custom Mission to Mars Minecraft map and Robotic Mission to Mars using Lego SPIKE and the Engineering For Kids Engineering Design Process.
Engineering For Kids has been STEM.org accredited and Cognia certified, with STEM.org accreditation demonstrating a commitment toward delivering curriculum for kids ages 4 to 14 and Cognia certification reserved for programs that encourage and enable children to learn, engage, and grow. Engineering For Kids began in 2009 and has grown to over 90 locations across 23 countries, serving more than 350,000 students. Engineering For Kids of Las Vegas West serves the areas of Southwest, Summerlin, Spring Valley, Green Valley, and Centennial and works with teachers, principals, parks and recreation centers, and community centers to host workshops, field trips, camps, and more.
