About the provider
The organization says it is dedicated to the practice and promulgation of true Karate and aims to give students a means of developing character while being strengthened both physically and mentally. Sensei Clark started his study of Shotokan Karate in 1989 as a member of the International Shotokan Karate Federation, and he has trained under Teruyuki Okazaki, Takayuki Mikami, Yutaka Yaguchi, Shojiro Koyama, Shigeru Takashina, and Kenneth Funakoshi. The program also says it provides the Las Vegas community an affordable opportunity to train in Shotokan Karate.
Serious training for serious students. Training is demanding and promotions are earned, not given. Students are treated as students, not customers. Dojo etiquette includes respect for other students, bowing, silence during opening and closing ceremonies, no talking during class, no gum, no jewelry, trimmed nails, clean uniform, tied-back long hair, punctuality, permission before leaving practice, and no profanity.
What families say
“I've been training at NSK for about 3 years now and have found it to be a great family oriented dojo that has a genuine interest in teaching and training traditional Japanese Shotokan style Karate. The instructors are knowledgeable, and most importantly, continually train themselves. You can expect to work hard at NSK, but you'll love every minute of it!” — Aaron - 3 years with NSK
“Nevada Shotokan Karate is an age friendly and a family based place, as I too have joined my kids and started training with them. My children and I have fun interacting and traveling with NSK and made new friends and look forward to making more memories with amazing people.” — Mhel - 4 years with NSK
“"Respect others, respect yourself" This is one of the mantras you will learn at this dojo. Karate, here at NSK, is more than just defense training: it is a guide to self awareness and physical improvement. Sensei Clark and all the instructors bring a wealth of karate knowledge and experience to benefit their students.” — Bailey - 6 years with NSK
