Northern Nevada Juniors Volleyball Club offers club volleyball, camps, clinics, a Middle School Academy, prep camps, and a Spring Break Camp. The program offers a progression of volleyball programs that can see players through the club experience until they head to college, including options for young players as young as 3. The Middle School Academy is open to 5th–8th grade boys and girls and focuses on fundamentals, skill work, offensive and defensive systems, and 6v6 play, while prep camps for high school aged players include position-specific reps, offensive and defensive system work, and 6v6 competitive play.
• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Middle School Academy runs Nov. 15–Dec. 22 with sessions on Fridays from 4–6pm and Sundays from 8–10am; tryouts for different age groups are held on specific dates and times throughout the year, and the 2024 Girls 18s Junior National Championships take place April 26–28
Northern Nevada Juniors Volleyball Club is dedicated to the promotion and development of girls' volleyball in Reno and the surrounding areas of Northern Nevada and is based in the Reno/Sparks/Tahoe area. The program is a member of and participates in events sanctioned by the Northern California Volleyball Association, a region of USA Volleyball. According to its mission, the program uses volleyball as a vehicle to improve student athletes as both players and people, point by point, promotes discipline, commitment and teamwork, encourages competitive, confident attitudes while maintaining high levels of sportsmanship, and works to make sure the discipline players learn on the court is also transferred into the classroom. Its stated primary goal is to provide the best skills and experience to help student athletes reach their highest potential and to help each athlete reach her personal goals, whether that is to play at the collegiate level, make the varsity team in high school, or learn cooperative life skills for success off the court. The club notes that after 11 years with Northern Nevada Juniors, Coach Byrne has decided to step away from coaching.
