Nevada Area Council Scouting Programs focus on outdoor education programs where participants learn positive social values, grit, integrity, and useful skills. Scouting in this council teaches lifelong skills through outdoor adventure and follows specific safety guidelines summarized as S.A.F.E., including supervision by qualified and trustworthy adults, assessment of activity risks, review of participants’ fitness and skill, and periodic checks of equipment and environment.

• Schedule: Consistent, year-round schedules across all programs that fit the busy lives of youth and their families
The stated mission of Nevada Area Council Scouting Programs is developing youth character and leadership in Northern Nevada through Scouting that teaches lifelong skills through outdoor adventure. Scouts in these programs are located across Northern Nevada and Eastern California. Families can sign up for the council’s newsletter to receive information each month about the latest Scouting events in Northern Nevada and Eastern California. The council’s Scout Store is located on the first floor of the council’s headquarters and is open Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm, and on the last Saturday of each month from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, with the shop closed on Sundays and Mondays and not open in November or December due to holidays; hours are stated as subject to change based on the day.
