• Ages: 10–17 years old
• Schedule: Programs and workshops are offered in 1, 2, 3, and 6 week formats, with additional 12-weekend and 2-day holiday options, and run Monday through Friday in both in-person and online formats.
Faculty at the NYFA New York campus includes professional filmmakers, screenwriters, producers, actors, performers, digital journalists, 3D animators, and visual storytellers who actively work in the entertainment industry. NYFA states that its programs follow a “learning by doing” philosophy that immerses students in hands-on work in film, media, and the performing arts from the first day. The New York Film Academy is approved to operate by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). NYFA has held many of its workshops at institutions such as Harvard University, Yale University, Cambridge University in the UK, Kings College London, and Disney-MGM Studios, and in June 2023 NYFA and the Beijing Film Academy jointly announced a study abroad program for students in China. NYFA reports that it attracts a diverse student body from over 120 countries. Students in these programs may have additional expenses on their own productions, which vary based on how much they shoot and the scale of their projects.
