Pioneer on the Lake Christian Camp & Retreat Center is a premier Christian camp and retreat center that focuses on offering a unique experience in the beauty of God’s creation. The program is dedicated to providing a setting where participants can meet with God, grow in their relationship to others, and leave refreshed and prepared to serve.
The original idea for Friends of Pioneer was born in 2016, and in January 2020 news broke that the camp would be sold. Over Labor Day Weekend 2020, a small group of Pioneer supporters gathered at the camp, and soon afterward Friends of Pioneer, Inc. was officially formed and registered as a 501(c)(3) organization. In August 2021, the land was purchased by Concordia Lutheran Ministries of Cabot, Pennsylvania, a nursing home ministry that had been one of Pioneer’s strongest supporters in years past. Throughout this process, Friends of Pioneer has worked with a collaborative team of camp experts from Kaleidoscope, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio.
